OUR TREES

Our trees are grown specially for use as Christmas Trees. You may be carried out into the lot in a wagon pulled by tractor or stroll the rows to select and cut your own tree. Your tree will be measured & baled to protect the branches from damage.

PHILOSOPHY

Go green with a real tree that continues to absorb carbon dioxide in your home and treecycle it in your yard after Christmas for birds to use as protective cover. Artificial trees will last for six years in your home, but for centuries in a landfill.

EVENTS

Open from the day after Thanksgiving from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Tractors pull wagons around fields dotted with Christmas trees, weather permitting. Hot Chocolate and Apples in the "Parlor" where you warm yourself from the inside and out. Take pictures surrounded by historic farm buildings including the red roofed Farmhouse, Smoke House, Mill & Barn.

OPEN DAYS

Christmas trees are harvested on Friday, Saturday & Sunday beginning on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28th, through the weekend before Christmas. The last day this year will be December 21, 2014.

GROWING

A Christmas tree can take a long time to grow - often over a decade! Seedlings are planted in Spring. Deer, mice and rabbits all feed on trees and young saplings are particularly vulnerable. Mowing protects saplings from being crowded out. After the 3rd year, annual shearing begins to create the traditional cone shape. Spray coats trees ready for harvest to promote water retention.

NEWS

Keep your tree watered and away from heat source & combustables. Use only non-combustable ornaments & UL rated lighting. LED lights cost more, but consume less energy and are cooler & brighter than traditional incandescent light strings. You should not burn your Christmas tree in the fireplace; it can contribute to creosote buildup
